"Hidden Central Beauty"

This is my first blog, so I want to introduce myself. I am a student in PROTON b-school at Indore & working as “Marketing trainee at Humint Consulting Pvt. Ltd”. My home town is Raipur (Chhattisgarh).

My blog caption is slightly philosophical. What comes in your mind when you hear this word-- “Hidden Central Beauty?”

Wait & Think for a while for better conclusion and if not, I have some fruitful insights for you.

“Hidden Central Beauty” is basically indicating information about Central India. It includes Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh came into existence on November1, 2000. Earlier it was a part of southern-eastern district of Madhya Pradesh.

Some facts about this state (Chhattisgarh):

1) Chhattisgarh is the richest State in terms of mineral wealth. It has approx. 28 varieties of major minerals, including diamonds. There are huge coal reserves approx. 87 per cent of India in this state.

2) It has many tourists’ spots like Rajim, Champaranya, Dongargarh, Laxman Temple, Gandheswar Temple, Sirpur, etc. Sirpur is on spotlight now days.

3) The state has one of the biggest collections of Rice germ-plasm and primarily known as “Dhaan ka katora”.

4) Many state owned enterprises i.e., Government of India undertakings like Bhilai Steel Plant, S.E.C. Railway Zone, BALCO Aluminium Plant (Korba), and NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd) at Korba and Sipat (Bilaspur) and S.E.C.L. (South Eastern Coalfields Limited). Korba & Bilaspur are the power hubs of the state, from where the electricity is supplied to several other Indian states. Chhattisgarh's southern area contains iron ore which NMDC is mining to meet iron demand in India as well as export. NMDC is located in Dantewara district. Recently ESSAR has started transporting iron ore through pipe lines to Vizag.

5) Power Finance Corporation says that C.G. has a potential of producing 35000 MW for 100 years.

These are facts about this state, but I couldn’t understand, why people underestimate Chhattisgarh. Why people have misconceptions towards it.I am agreeing that there are some loopholes. But nothing is perfect in this world even America itself. While meeting with foreigners, why Indians feel inferiority complexes?

Why??

We have everything in India. In one hand, we have one of the seven wonders- The Taj-Mahal and on the other hand, we also have booming sectors, descent culture & strongest four pillars for democracy viz. Legislature, Executive, Judiciary and Press.

I put this question into your court, “Why Central India is neglected?”

It would be honour for me to read your comments on the same.

Hi Shraddha,Congratulations for your first blog,I
hope this continues further towards a great extent, your blog is really crisp, gives a quick intro of Central India.Good Work :)

I think central India is neglected because:
1)This is our irony that from last 15 years we have different state & central government,as now it is BJP in State & Congress in Center, due to which we don't get full support from the central government.

2)Rate of literacy in our State is lower then other states specially from developed states like Delhi,Kerala, Gujarat,Punjab & Maharashtra,we also don't have skilled labor force to attract Industries & we are gifted with poor Infrastructure.

3)Rule of Law is adverse & corruption is at its pick which absorbs the lubrication of our system & depreciate our productivity.

As in the present scenario situations are changing, the Govt.of both states are doing good work & development can be seen at both rural & urban fronts, specially in cities like Bhopal,Indore & Raipur, & steps taken by government for renewal of our Mandi's
& Panchayats are motivating, but there is lot to do,lets hope for the best

Thats all from my side
Shraddha Wish U All The Very Best for future Blogs & Keep up the good work

With Best Wishes

Well, answer is very simple, because CG is also known as red corridor. Probably this is one of those misconceptions you were referring to, but yes it is true.

And as Naxal put it, liberalization was good, but why in the hell did our PM (then FM, 1991) opened Agriculture sector for FDI?

Hence Naxal won't understand capitalism, and definitely no one can make us understand communism/Marxism/Leninism.

I hope you know the answer now, WHY?

Hi Shraddha,
Its very good that u have started writting your blog. But taking initiative is easier but continuing it is really a difficult job. And I know that you are not among those people who get their step back. Keep wriiting regularly. This step is inspiring for us also.

To answer your question, i don't think that CG is neglected anyway, although there are many problems in CG and the biggest one is naxalism.

Good work done

Its a nice post full with insights. I surely understand your love and respect for Chhattisgarh.

I personally feel that the states which are carved out of some controversies suffer the problem of being neglected.

I would like to add one fact which I watched in Discovery is that people from Chhattisgarh are most prone to malaria.

I look forward for more such insightful blogs from you...........

wel dear congrates first of all...... but let me clarify, that in your blog there r some grammatical and informative mistakes. the data regarding coal reserves needs to be checked. your tone of writing is sounding belligerent, n that must be avoided.

nw i think that there r so many reasons that central india is not so powerful as other states, but i believe that central india is never ignored nor side-treated. reasons:-
1) literacy rate is very poor, infact below 45% in some regions.
2) one of the worst 10th&12th results every year.
3) infant mortality and child death rate is very high as compare to other states.
4) low per capita income, and backwardness with strong belief in superstitions.
5) political instability, undeserving candidates as officers and ministers.
6)last but nt d least, is the very poor civic sense of people, like no proper sanitation, wastage of resources like water, oil, n power. this creates an unpleasent atmosphere to live, coz of which v have very low rates of immigrantes.
